The Dennys River Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Service is just what the name implies. We are one of the few departments left in the State of Maine that actually operate strictly on a volunteer basis in the true sense of the word. Our members do their jobs purely for the love of the service, they recieve no reimbursement or stipend for the time they put into the department.
All of our firefighters are trained at least to FireFighter 1 and many others far beyond that, our EMTs are trained to the EMT-Basic level and our ambulance driver's have all taken a specialized EVOC driving course. All training, continuing education, and equipment required is provided in a joint effort between the Dennys River VFD and the Town of Dennysville.
